I've been looking around the forums, and i did post once when i missed the car that i wanted, and wanted to know what it was worth. Well, i ended up finding another car. I picked it up reasonably a few days ago off eBay and am getting it shipped this week. I am from Maine and am 15.
Below is the listing for the car i bought.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=005&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&viewitem=&item=150214603786&rd=1
and it is only going to cost me $470 to get it to Boston, then about $100-150 to get it home from there.
i think bought it pretty right. the local body shop (who has restored many novas, chevelles and camaros) figures that it shouldnt cost much, if any over $1000 to fix the frame, although he was just looking at pics, i feet pretty good about it.
just thought i would introduce myself and my new(to me) car.

yes, that was the main reason for buying the car, the fact that it was so solid. the only thing that looks like it will have to be reparied is the front fenders, and did you see the trunk? that looks excellent on the sides. I am from the portland area. where are some good shows, i plan on going to the bonny eagle car show but are there any others around? i found a nice retro diner with a cruise night fridays during the summer, there are some neat cars there. It's in waterboro, its called blast from the [ast.
thanks for the offer. are there any other mainers here?
thanks for the welcome guys

yea there are a few other Mainers on here, not many though...Owls Head has a few good shows.. Bonny Eagle is always one of the biggest.. I had a ton of parts for the 3rd gen novas, but i just sold them to a guy in turner.. actually traded my 70 Nova for a 65.. last i knew he still had a lot of parts left.. grills, bezels, lots of finishing stuff.. i could get ya his contact info if you are interested.. i know i gave him 1 real nice front fender, drivers side if i remember correctly.. any way hope to see ya around the forum.. later Tom

Welcomed aboard, Ben!
Looks like you have many options with this car. It can either be a dependable commuter, a nice project car, or perhaps even both. You can make it look so sweet, so do not discourage yourself.
Thanks for the links, too. I have been wanting to find-out what the air-cleaner for a 307CI looks like, and now I know.

I plan to remove the flame-job on my car's engine, and the yellow-colored parts.

So the images of you car's engine really helped. Thanks!

glad to be of help gerry,
I would love to get his info if i could TRoberts, i may not need much right away but i am sure i will before too long.
I plan on using this car as a project (as if i dont have enough) for the next year or two, go through the interior, clean up under the dash and the floor pans, because i beleive the floor pans have some surface rust at least on them. I am also interested in putting buckets in the car, and maybe a TH350 in place of the PG eventually. I do plan on keeping this car fairly original, i am going to do some stuff to it but nothing that is irreversible (like hacking up the floors or something)
thanks guys
Ben
