A far as I know all nova hinges are up to 71 bolted on. Is it possible that someone welded them on?

Are you referring to a pin, and bushing type repair, or something else.?

The pin and bushing kits are the same regardless of whether the hinge is welded or bolted on. I used the same kit for my 69 and my 72. The 69 has bolt on hinges and the 72 has the weld on hinges.

here is what i found from research the kit paddock sells has real long pins with no groovs for the retainer clip i guess that you cut them to length, and use no retainers also the bushings are not the same size as my old ones, i found a kit on ebay that looks right, the roller kit they sent me is for a 67 and consist of a roller and bolt that is short, mine has a pin with a roller made on top that i also found on ebay. thanks for the help, i thought some one screwed up when i seen the hinges welded but then found out it came from gm like that what the heck were they thinking

I believe I got my kits from Classic. I have also seen them at NAPA so you might look there and compare.

The pin/bushing kits from classic are better, and have the the retainer goove. The bushing will fit. You need to lube them a little, line them up with the hole, and tap them in with a flat faced body hammer. The bushing with the grooves goes on the bottom in a larger hole.
I believe that classic now sells the complete pin, with roller. You grind the end off the old pin, pop it out, and replace the whole thing. Much simpler than trying to drill, and tap the existing one with the kit you have.

I used the kit from classic. At the time all they had was a kit that you drilled and tapped out the hole and screwed the pin/bushing in. They seemed to come out very well.

It may be more difficult because your hinges are welded on.

Good luck.
