it's hardtop with a 355 tpi (older block with a TPI setup. (overheats for now...what's the fix?) and a 700r4 with leaking transmission pan (has a none bent pan available) body has some fixes and some need fixing...interior is from a 67 ss. he has most all of the interior still in boxes and the rally wheels with it. it comes with some coys 18s and 20's. actually it's posted in the for sale section here in houston. (please don't buy it away from me!!!!) lol....i offered 13.5. it has some kind of blinker setup for a tractor??? gauges don't all work, has had the floor pan worked on. the vin and cowl tag do state it's a true 118, original color black. i know it needs work, but i want something pretty dependable and peace of mind for that kind of money, but i do know i'll have to put some more money into it to get it like i want. thanks and i hope to be prowlling around here more once i get A 66ss.....like my '86 silverado, did the '67 come with electronic fuel injected?? lol..j/k

.........
update...the car has problems with the tpi. it left us stranded at the gas station, and won't restart after a few minutes of running. the rear gears are not posi???? he told me he believes the other guy took it out for some reason....shouldn't all SS's come with posi? also, the 700r4 is hard for me to find the gears (going from park to drive) like it wants to hang up between gears??? so considering all that and all the wires hanging from the TPI setup and for the makeshift blinker setup, not sure which kinda of steering wheel it comes with, not sure of the body under the paint, what could my final offer be? i have cash and ready for a 66 or 67 ss hardtop that'll be reliable and nice to look at......

thanks guys,

$13,500 sound's about right. With out seeing pic's of the car, but I would not go much higher than $14,500. Granted the body is in dicent shape. Just my tow cent's.

That would be a great car with a little tlc. I dont like the wheels too much but thats me. If you can get it for under 14k I would do it for sure:yes:. Check the rear frame for rust out.

maybe hood left open?? anyways...he says the car was originally a 4 speed? does that hint as to what engine it might have had? i hadn't looked at the rear for the dual exhaust hangers, but maybe anything else i could look for? where might the axle codes be?

Ps...not trying to rain on your parade...just trying to help a perspective nova owner(we are a tight nit group here...we watch out for each other)

i'm thinking i could buy it and then sell the TPI stuff out of there to get some of my money back. (block is pre-86 (can tell by the valve covers) and the TPI comes from a '92 camaro 5.7) i'm uncertain about this car at that price (13,500). problem is just having to break it all down just to get it reliable......11? 11,500??? 12!!!!????..........sigh....

from the problems you have stated and the pics of the interior it sounds like a cobbled up car. if they took short cuts with the motor and trans etc. then who knows whats under the paint and carpet. tell them to keep the wheels and i would offer 8-9 grand at the most.

right now with the economy and all there are a lot of old cars for sale and not a lot of money out there. just look at racingjunk.com there are some fantastic deals out there..
