I know this question has been beat to death, and i have used the search to no avail.
What is the max tire size i can fit on a 73-74 hatchback stock rear hieght with any backspace that would work.
Any body with a 73 or 74 know?

Greetings,
While the above link will be your best bet, I'm running 255/60/15's on 15X8 Weld Draglites with a 4.5" backspacing and they fit fine. The shocks are in their original location as well.

I am running 255/60/15 with 5.5 back space, close to shocks but they don't hit.

you say your running 255/60R15 with 4 1/2 back space. chart says that tire is 26.8 dia. x 8.2 tread width. do you think 255/70R15 would fit. this tire is 29 dia x 7.6 wide. width would be alright but its the dia. im conscerned about. i wish goodrich made a 245/70R15 in the t/a radial. i think that would be the perfect fit. what do you think??

Greetings,
Unless you jack the back end up, I think otherwise it'd be too tall of a tire. I will admit mine's tight when it comes to the height, but I refuse to raise the rear of the car. I also don't like the look of the 70 series tire (sidewalls look too big to me), thus another reason why I went with a 60 series tire. In the end, it's your car and do what you want! These are just my opinions and observations.
