I've received my brake line kit from Inline Tube. I've choose the steel ones, not the stainless steel. I think they will rust not so long after it gets contact with water or humidity because they are made of steel. But what can I apply to protect it other than paint? Can I spray some silicon grease? Also I've bought a Booster/master cylinder kit and I love how it looks! The gold aspect looks great. Will it rust if I do not protect it? And how can I protect it other than painting it? Thanks

The brake lines are lightly Zinc coated already... you could spray some cold galvanize

You could get yourself a spray bomb of clear engine enamel and hit your brake lines and master cylinder with that. Degrease them first of course. I hate rusty brake lines too, I used some poly coated steel lines, only problem with those is the coating is green. I scuffed them and hit them with some black epoxy.....at least they won't rust.

We use Cast Blast. It gives the m/c and brake lines a finish that looks like steel.
