I have a 71 nova from research on this board I have found that i can run a max of 8 wide rim with 5.5 bs and a 275 60 15 tire on the back and that requires rolling it fender lip in and relocating the shock, I don't want the car jacked up hi in the rear, my question is if i relocate the springs inward and mini tub the car what is the max wheel tire combo for the street, should i go with a 10" rim with 6.5 bs or 7.5 bs I know ill have to mini tub it, will i have to notch the frame. and how hard is it to move the springs in, also it appears the gas tank would have to be changed any one know what to replace it with. Id like to have 13-14 wide tires at the section with. I relly dont want a fuel cell in the trunk:(

IMHO 275 or a 28x11.5 looks great on a stock body nova:

you have a lot of rules.... these questions are going to have to be your own process.. small gas tanks are by the hundred's at any salvage yard... take a tape measure with ya... you want 13 to 14" width tires you going to have to relocate the frame rails or cut the fender to let the tire out...... will your skill level or bank account allow for your thoughts? your asking some easy question that require one or the other..... skill or cash...
a 8.5 wide is the widest rim for the 3rd gen with a 5.5 BS..with out moving the frame rail inboard

I think Veno is correct. I've got that wheel with my 28x12.5 MT tire, mini tubs, shocks moved inboard, springs in stock location with stock fuel tank works well.
