Yeah it was a bucket seat no console car. It also was a rubber floor mat car. I plan on putting carpet in the car. Im trying to stay some what original with it. I hope the none correct stuff doesn,t detract from the car to bad. Like headers, aluminum intake, carpet, 3 row rad, open element air cleaner. What to you guys think will that stuff take away from its appeal?

Unless you are building it to sell, and very few of my cars were ever "inventory", make it the way you want it. You are going to be the one cruising it and showing it off. When guys pull up next to you at the light and give you the thumbs-up it will all be worth it.:D

No im giving this car a new life to be driving and enjoyed by me and my family. I know some look down on none factory stuff. this is my first time building a car and i just want to do the best for it. I Know I could have bought one cheaper but for some odd reason I love fixing the old nova .

That is the thing I love about this hobby...you can really do your own thing with it. There is room for everyone and every taste. :D No matter which way you go, some will love it and some will say,"If it had been MINE I would have done it THIS way not THAT way!" ...so do it the way that seems best for you Troy! There is lots and lots of good advice on this website no matter what you decide. Just pick though it and decide what works best for you.

Case in point: Last week someone started a thread in electrical about putting a remote starter solenoid in the trunk. Some liked the idea and some didn't. If the idea sounded good to you, there were pretty detailed instructions about how to do it. If you didn't like the idea there were good reasons posted to NOT do it. You just take you pick...either way works just fine!:D

Looks like you are well on your way! I was worried when I saw the 1st pics - but it looks like you have the master plan. I just wish I had the time and skills that you obviously have. Keep us posted!

PS - I am not a "purist" - so I would suggest that if you plan to keep the car, make it how YOU want it. Casual fans won't notice any differences from factory anyway. If it looks good - do it!

racinfan83 your 71 is really sweet looking . And I was over whelmed when i first cleaned out all the extra stuff from inside the car ,and seen all the rust. I just did little by little and its coming along. I have to say helping my dad on his cars when i was younger has really paid off. I also have friends that are in to cars for advise . and of course this web sight helps alot everybody here is so helpful by showing thier projects. My body mans going to have his handsful on my nova.I will try to get more picts on soon. My seasonal job starts back up next week so nova gets put back on the back burner til december for me. Bodyshop will have it for a couple months.
