rack&pinion

Hi Guys !

Has anyone got some pics of a rack&pinion install ? or know of a site that would have step by step instruction. i'd like to put a r&p in my 72 but don't want to pay around a grand to do it ~!! there's got to be a cheaper way to to it .weld in a couple of bolts or makeup a
bracket just need to see whats involved..

I do but it was for a 63SS so I'm not sure it will help you any...They can be a challenge and I would not attempt it unless someone else has already installed the kit before...My headers would not fit after I installed my kit and I had to spend a lot getting a set of headers modified so I could drive the car...As far as the handling I'm totally satisified..100% improvement over stock parts...

ive got one on my car...i can get pics..its a waste of money..hangs to low to the ground..it will be coming off in favor of org tie rod ends and a tom lee gear box...im sick of having bumpsteer and this is one of many issues contributing to the fact...

its pretty simple to mount however you have to be picky on rack n pinion choices, plus you have to change outer tierods because our wheel base is real narrow...i can try and get some pics when i get the chance

I just put 2 days in at my machine doing all the proper steps to make an OE rack fit into our chassis. This is not something that can be pulled off a shelf and be made to work correctly with out major reconstruction. PS that 2 days was put in making 100 units lol


No bump steer in our product. Some of the older bolt in units with no R&D behind them had that issue.
