Hello everyone,
My name is Dino Trakas. I am 23 and live in Gurnee Illinois.
I along with my friend Paul Roupas, am the owner of the Deman SR27 aka B.A.M SR27. Christian Edstrom (Travis Pastrana's Subaru Rally Co-Driver) did the article on the SR27 for 0-60,(very great magazine, and well done photography from Kris Clewell) and said that it is the most fun car to drive, and fastest car 0-100. He loved how you sit right ontop of the rear axel, and can feel everything the car does. With manual brakes and steering, its like the McLaren F1, but faster. My buddy and i started our business in June of last summer. So far everything is going great. Alot of people that dont know about the 7 at track events get to see what a 7 can do.
We wanted to do something crazy for the 7. A 7 is fast with even a 120hp engine that most like to use. We decided to drop in a Sr20det(J-spec) from a Nissan Silvia. We are currently making 350hp on a 1420lbs (wet) car. That is a power of weight ratio of about 4.1lbs/hp. We managed a 1.7g on a skip-pad and reached 0-60 in just under 3 sec. The car is very practical to drove on the road, and a machine on the track. We just came back form Run-N-Gun in St.Louis and got 1st place in the track event and autocross event. For those that dont know what Run-N-Gun is, it is an event for Cobras and now kit cars. There were a bunch of Ford GT's 600-800hp Cobra replicas, and now some 7's. We hope to get an interest in the SR27 and start selling here in the states. We are starting up our business right know, and so far it is looking good. We have sold 1 so far, and hope for many more to come.
I have always loved American Muscle cars. Growing up, my father had a 69 Charger with a 440 Hemi. Who knew that if he kept it, it would of been worth a fortune right now. I recently sold my 06 Mustang for a Jeep Wrangler for an everyday driver. I have always wanted a 70 Nova, and by dumb luck, came upon one for sale in Wisconsin as I took a wrong turn on the way to my cousins house for dinner.
Well enough about me. Here are a few pics of the SR27 for you to see what a Lotus 7 is.
Nova pics to come soon.
