Fuel guage reading problem

I bought my 70 SS nova several years ago. It has aftermarket guages for the voltage, oil, fuel, etc.
The problem is the aftermarket guage reads empty all the time when I fill up. As I use gas it the needle moves from empty to half.
Any idea why or how to fix ?

I'd check the grounds and make sure there's good connections. If you're still having problems after that, try another gauge.

That could be a grounding problem. Those sometimes do wierd things to the elictricals. It also could be a problem with the wrong sender unit in the tank, which is a pain to get to. Be sure to get the one that goes with your aftermarket gauge if you do replace it.
