I have a customer of mine that has a 65 SS V8 car he wants to sell. I posted the trim tag info a week or so ago.It was mist blue with ermine white top, bucket seats, powerglide, console, tinted glass, air conditioning, rear antenna, padded dash, seat belts, and passenger side mirror.

The car retains its original interior, including the console. The floor pans are solid, no rust holes. The exterior of the car is in good condition. It has a set of 14" cragars on it and has all its emblems.Still has the drum brakes on the front.Qtrs are solid but needs a hood.

The rearend has been swapped to a 9" ford but is not tubbed and still has its original leaf springs. The original engine is long gone.He has all the info on the car down to the original owner and pictures of the car in the late 60's and early 70's. He says the 65 V8's are hard to find and wants $7500.00 for it. Is this a fair price or is he shorting me a line?Trim tag info is:

The VIN you posted previously indicates it was born a 1965 Nova SS with a V/8 engine. Unfortunately, nothing tells you what size V/8 unless there is something in the original paperwork. Being a PG car, there's a good chance it was a 283. In any event, the original engine is gone, so it really doesn't matter.

There were only 9100 Nova SS's built in 1965 (sixes & V/8's), so that's worth something. You mentioned all the emblems were still there. Does that include all the chrome trim? Being a 'one year' car, trim for 65 SS's is very difficult to find.

IMO, you have to decide what this car is worth as it stands now. The fact it was originally a V/8 would only really add substantial value if it still had the original engine, which it doesn't. If it still has the factory a/c installed..... and it works, that's worth something.

Hope all this helps with your decision.

If my memory serves me correct, it has 283 emblems and all the chrome was there accept one piece on top of the qtr. Can't remember which qtr. though. Thanks for the insight.
