I'm a self taught gear head and had to learn the hard way. I fell in love with a certain 1962 Chevy II some time around 1972 I was 14 or 15. I worked my butt off until I could buy it, even though I didn't know how to work on it. It was my high school car and after replacing every drive train component at least once and putting a straight axle up front, I had to sell it (cash flow issues) after starting a family in 1979. Fast forward to 2005, after being separated from it for 26 years I found it, bought it back and I've started it's restoration. In the mean time I built a 1932 three window coupe in the garage.

Thanks for the complements, no I never kept track of it, life went on and I moved on. But it never really left my mind completely, only over beers with my brother in law did I decide to find out what ever happend to it. After four different owners and three barns I managed to find it and buy it back. I'll give you an idea of how bad it had been neglected. It still had the same set of Cragars and the same interior, the engine was a total piece of junk, the tranny wouldn't stay in gear, every piece of drivetrain, suspension, brakes and steering was shot. the only thing I didn't replace was the body and 12 bolt rear end! I still have more to do but I'm getting there.
