Hi all My name is Tim. I live in Quality, Ky. Retired 17yr's as a Boilermaker 10 years as a Draftsman. Loved both job's but got the chance to retire at 50 I did sold my company. I have been into cars my whole life. Lot of show cars. Got tired of the trailer cars and needed to build one to drive. And drive it I do.

Hey Tim!
What boiler company did you own? I used to own an industrial laundry that ran six 48 horse boilers(Damn California EPA!) I had a Dixon, a couple of Hursts, a couple of McKennas(Local builder) and a Miura!

We did Power House's. We did repair work on the boilers for all the main power plants in KY,TN,IN,IL and so on. I am not aloud to tell the name of the company do to the buy out ( they do not what anyone to know I left). I went all over the world doing Boilermaker work. I do love to weld and high rigging.
All I can say is you Rat B*st*rds made a killing acid washing my boilers! J/K
Actually, I had to fire a couple of boiler techs for sleeping on the job and letting the tubes scale up from not enough blow downs along with not checking the softeners and chem injectors!

I know what you mean. There are a few bum's in ever trade. But mostly good hard working guys. Being a Boilermaker was one the best jobs I ever had. But Being a Draftsman made me the most Money. I had a peace in a company that made small hand held Gas Detectors. The kind like the Army, Navy, CIA and groups like that use.
