3rd gen automatic console shifters

Besides the gear indicator and lack of backup light switch , is there any other difference to keep a person from useing repair parts listed for 68/72 on a 74 ?

Often is the case when I'm looking for parts to my 74. Some will state that it's for 68-72 Novas, but I've noticed that most parts work out for my 74.

Thats what I have found on a lot of parts, but I just want to make sure before ordering a convertion ket to four speed auto for that shifter.
