Hello,

I have been lurking around the forums for a while and finally joined since i just picked up my first Nova yesterday. This is not my first hot rod, I have been into the 67-72 C10's for a while among other things.

Here are the details on the car:

1970 Nova 2D 350 auto car everything is original even the factory jack with the exception of the wheels. the previous owner I bought it from owner it fir 22 years, which all of that time the car was garaged. The only rust on the car is in the passengers side floor, other than that there is nothing else.

So here is the plan: 383 stroker with a complete stock appearance, T-56 six speed from Lt-1 car, restore the interior in all black, remove all exterior trim only leaving badges. Factory 1970 silver with matching steel wheels and hub caps. I want this car to apper factory with alot of go.

Here are some pics when I brought it home. I paid $1700.00 for it, it currently has a GM crate motor with about 20K miles on it that is going in my little brother 84 GMC that i gave him on his 14th birthday.

Greetings,

A decent start, but why not do an LS1 to mate to that T56? We've got a sticky on here that gives a lot of information on the LSX swaps. Prices have been coming down on them and it doesn't take much at all to get gobs of power out of them.

For a real sleeper, paint it that original green.

The reason I dont want to do a LS based engine is I want as much of a factory appearance as possible. The 383 should put down around 450hp, and a little more torque than that. It will retain all factory appearing hardware. I have done LS and LT based swaps in the past and now I looking for something a little more factory.

The damage is not too bad, a new tail panel and some dolly work and it should be good to go.

The back of my 70 looked like that when I got it, if not worse, and look at it now. A new taillight panel, and a hammer.

Heres a swiss-cheesed version of that very same green I owned a couple of years ago. Would you believe 16,000 original miles? Love that green (hate that rust)

Welcome to the Site (you have a MUCH better car to work with)
