I am thinking of taking out my power steering in my 63. What would I need for the swap? Can any of my parts be used??

Hey 63,

Out of curiosity...why are you removing your power steering?

I like the feel of manual better, plus swapping in a 283 and might used a notched pan.

When I swapped my '62 over from PS I got the complete steering linkage for a '63 manual steering car, That included the pitman arm, drag link, idler arm and tie rods. After I did that I changed the idler arm to the bearing conversion, well worth the $ Easy swap. I am also running the same pan you had questions about in an earlier post.

Just an FYI- the tie rods are the same as the PS setup.

I just took off the asit. power rod thing.
even with a small steering wheel the car turns the same to me,even my girl friend at the time,18 yrs. old had no problem driving the car.

did the EXACT same thing on our wagon. the pump, slave cylinder and control valve were shot so i yanked it all out and went manual and did the idler bearing conversion.
