Headlight Bezel Question

:confused: I know this sounds dumb, but my headlight bezels are weathered enough that I can't tell what color they were around the actual headlight. I can see that the ribbed area has a black background, but the area around the actual lights is shiny silver in places and flat black in other places. I've tried looking at pics, but my eyes just aren't good enough to tell.:p I went to a show a couple of weeks ago and the only two 3rd gens there also had screwed up bezels!:eek:

So what do you have around the lights? Black or silver?? If it's black, are we talking something like chassis black, sort of semi-flat? ... if silver is it argent? I have mine running through the dishwasher now so they'll be nice a clean! ...and no, my wife is away. How did you know that?:p

Checkout my avatar they are semi flat like chassis black with the very outer trim left chrome.I'll post a larger pic for you too!Mine are SS so only 2 fins are left chrome.I used Krylon semi flat black to get them like this.(Well Jr actually did it)

Mine on my '72 (probably not original) were silver...as were the ones that came on my buddies '69.

That being said...we both painted 'em satin black because it looks better.

Uh oh, don't tell 64PRONOVA...he'll call me poor again for painting something satin!!! :eek: :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Well satin black they are. I've already taped and painted them. I agree that they look good black.

A lot of 68s i've seen had the silver ones. Black is the way to go.
