Camaro in the front row, it had one of those filters. Since the keys were in the ignition, I hopped in to fire it up; a couple spins and POP! One melted foam air filter dripping into the carb. We closed the hood and continued down the street at a little faster pace!! I would never run one of those on anything. Schonyenko2 1st-November-2007, 01:10 AM I gotta agree with him on the carb fart/melt the filter issue. They look cool, but are a fire waitin to happen. OILMAN 1st-November-2007, 10:39 AM just checked with my local fire marshall,he said paper will burn too RallyNova 1st-November-2007, 09:01 PM But paper is not petroleum like foam. :) NOVACA1N 1st-November-2007, 09:22 PM I don't care how vintage, or how much it's worth, I would NEVER run that on my car. Ever. Sh1fter 1st-November-2007, 10:50 PM I saw that Motion pic a couple of months ago and PM'd him with how much I liked it and asked if they made re-pops. I'd run it. Nova74ss 2nd-November-2007, 10:38 AM And The Air Cleaner Saga Continues... bowtie0069 3rd-November-2007, 12:07 AM just checked with my local fire marshall,he said paper will burn too I've never seen a paper filter draped over the carb opening, have you? veno 3rd-November-2007, 12:25 AM There is one on craigs list in dallas Schonyenko2 5th-November-2007, 12:09 AM Gentlmen, I'm old. And I've seen these from back in the day. When your holley backfires, like they all do, your foam material is directly above where the flame travels. Not off to the sides like a normal paper filter. Now I think they look cool as hell. But, I've seen them go up like a Roman candle. So maybe you'll be lucky. I hope so. But carry a good 5# fire extinguisher. Cause cool ain't worth loosin your ride. 70texasnova 6th-November-2007, 09:43 PM Gentlmen, I'm old. And I've seen these from back in the day. At the Rhinebeck show there was a '68 Nova COPO witha 427 and the Fly Eye Air Cleaner. The owner was nice enuff to let me try it, and it fits!!! I have some pix of the car and a video on youtube, but not allowed to attach... http://www.youtube.com/user/CORVAIRWILD nukledragger 16th-September-2008, 12:18 AM I asked this same question on the Yenko site and they said that it was not available.
