When I was in high school a friend and I walked up to a used car lot where there was a 68 396/4 spd. Camaro in the front row, it had one of those filters. Since the keys were in the ignition, I hopped in to fire it up; a couple spins and POP! One melted foam air filter dripping into the carb. We closed the hood and continued down the street at a little faster pace!!
I would never run one of those on anything.

I gotta agree with him on the carb fart/melt the filter issue. They look cool, but are a fire waitin to happen.

I don't care how vintage, or how much it's worth, I would NEVER run that on my car. Ever.

I saw that Motion pic a couple of months ago and PM'd him with how much I liked it and asked if they made re-pops. I'd run it.

Gentlmen, I'm old. And I've seen these from back in the day. When your holley backfires, like they all do, your foam material is directly above where the flame travels. Not off to the sides like a normal paper filter. Now I think they look cool as hell. But, I've seen them go up like a Roman candle. So maybe you'll be lucky. I hope so. But carry a good 5# fire extinguisher. Cause cool ain't worth loosin your ride.

I have a '62 Corvair Spyder turbo, and have adapted a Quadrajet carb. There's only 2" of clearance for an air cleaner.
At the Rhinebeck show there was a '68 Nova COPO witha 427 and the Fly Eye Air Cleaner. The owner was nice enuff to let me try it, and it fits!!!
I have some pix of the car and a video on youtube, but not allowed to attach...

I asked this same question on the Yenko site and they said that it was not available. However, a couple people said that they had made their own. Wish it was available !!!
