alright either im having a catastrophic mishap with something up front of the car or its as little as i need new breaks.
Today, after it rained and everything was finally dry i finally got to take the car out. Well i had to hit the breaks and the pedal kind of grinded its way down, and the breaks feel like they were grinding to a stop, like the pedal would go then kinda click with back force then go down more then do it again and again and again.... could it be i fnally worn down the breaks completly i needed new ones cause these were squielling also.
it only happen really bad once, but it would still do it just not as loud or to that great of a time. Just real quick... i also was going easier on them since that happened.....
do i need new breaks..... good ive blown a shock, is something broke. ???? any guesses.

Maybe you need breaks as well as brakes... Sounds like you should post this in the Steering, Suspension, & Chassis section.

on the 79 it will be disc front and drum back.
sounds to me like somoene neglects there brake pads. so id sugest having the rotors turned when you replace the pads.
personally i replace the front pads when there is still meat left on em just so i dont have to worry about the brakes being worn and failing when im doing high speeds but thats just me. and also check the rear shoes cause if they are showing wear might as well replace them also cause they are cheap and are in my opinion the most important part of the car.

If you do them yourself check the front flex hoses for cracks and replace them if they are,as well as an over all look at the condition of the whole system in general.

thanks guys
hopefully there not rigged up like the rest of my car:mad:
imagine changing the shocks but needed about 11 hands just to do it. he had rigged up spacers/nuts/quarter panels in the way of his rigged up job so we had to cut them,....
:( the car seems to be getting more and more problems a little on the quick side.
