theres seems to be a lot of people on here doing nose swaps on 73/74s. heres mine. also swapped in my 350/th350 from my 72 while i was at it. i did all this back on columbus day weekend, i just havent had time to post any pictures. since then i have just been doing body work. the car is in the process of getting a complete satin black rattle can paint job as i chip away at the body work.

heres some more pictures

just need to get another set of caltrac split monoleafs to fix the sag and more body work. the black paint on the roof was my second attempt since a huge wind gust blew dust and leaves in the first coat. a little wet sanding nd a recoat fixed that though.

Great progress!!!

I'm assuming those are preformed frame rails? Comp Eng?

Got any under-side pics?

yo man, would you know if that 74 front body section would bolt up to a 79??? the part you took off... i love that year, and may take it off your hands if its in good condition.... but i need to know if it'll bolt up

yes those are preformed comp engineering rails but we hacked them to pieces to make the fit how i wanted. they work but they need a lot of modification to make them work right. we did this to two cars so far (mine and a friend of mine's 73 ventura thats tubbed with ladder bars) and had to modify these rails for both cars. if i do it again im gonna go right to art morrison with the specs of the rail i want and have them bend them for me out of one piece. but regardless, now that theyre in how i want them and the connectors are done im pretty happy with how it came out. i flipped the detroit speed offset leaf hangars around backwards to retain close to the stock leaf spring position even though the frame rails are now much closer together than stock.

i have a bunch of pictures of the underneath of that car ill post later on.

as far as the 74 nose fitting a 79, i know it has been done because i have seen a tubbed 78 with a 72 nose put on it which is the same fenders as the 74. someone else on here would know better than me im sure cause ive never worked on a 75-79. if you do think this is something your interested let me know quick cause i have someone stopping by tomorrow who has been bugging me to break up the nose so he can buy just the fenders and hood. id much rather sell it whole as one piece.

oh i don't have the cash now, i was going in the long run, and not sure 100% yet if i can take it or not, so just sell it to the other guy.

i was asking 50 bucks for the 6 cylinder but if your serious about getting it ill give it to you. it needed a carb tune when i took it out but it ran great. it does however have 204,000 on it. i bought the car from the second owner who bought it in 75 and garaged it right up until this summer. let me know if you want it.

the original hood and fenders are spoken for now so i am going to break up the nose. all trim pieces are there, front bumper, two grilles, inner fenders, brand new 6 cylinder radiator, radiator support, all filler panels and hardware, etc. if anyone needs pieces just ask. i am going to start taking pictures of stuff and posting them in the for sale section on here

Well let me ask you this. How about if I give you the 50.00 dollars and let me drive up to you and take what I need from the motor, like: Intake/Exhaust Manifold, Carb, Air Cleaner, And Alternator, and you keep the block only because I don't have the vehicle to pick up the block. My 72 was recently rebuilt in 03' but I do need the external pieces. It's your call. I could drive up Nov. 10th or 11th and I'll bring my own tools. Let me know if this is okay with you. Also it would be nice to check out your Nova while I'm there. Billy.

sounds good to me. if for some reason you could use a truck to drive out here i have a hoist so you could take the whole thing. if not you can take whatever you need.
