unrelated but related...
i've owned quite a few '55 chevs in my day and witnessed numerous demensions of stocker driveshafts... varying dimensions up to 5/8"
why not just measure from the tranny seal & rear yoke and go from there ???
get yer own measurement to fit your specific car/needs... just a thought, hope ya get the answer ya want ;)

well feeling lazy!
Leaving in the morning (5am) headed to a NASCAR shop to go threw the scrap room!
They have a pile of drive shafts.
And some other goodies.
Just never know what you will find.
I always went for the past few years, but only looking for what would work on the speed boats.
This year it's for the car!
Hope to do well.
then off to Goodguys at Lowe's Motor Speedway!

well a th400 tranny is shorter then a th350 short shaft, and a th350 long shaft is 3inches longer then a shoft shaft
