Looking at Novaresource.com, there is a separate option code (RPO JL2) for front disc brakes listed as being available from 1971 - 1974. It also lists Vaccuum power brake equipment (RPO J50) available from 1968 - 1979.

It ****MAY**** have been possible to special order a manual front disc setup, but my guess would be that if you ordered front discs, you automatically would get the power assist option added.

Yes both my 69's have power disc brakes.

I think 68 was the only year power brakes were an option with discs.

I believe, at some point, I read that manual disks were never available--which leads me to believe you are correct, the power assist was automatically added with the disc brake option.
