Can anyone direct me to the most complete conversion kit for a 73?? I have manual drums now on my 4 door sedan and would like to convert to power disc in the front. Can it be done easily and is there a kit that is complete with the correct booster spindles etc. I have seen some on Ebay but dont know if they are a decent price or quality parts. I don't have a boat load of money to spend on it either. ( 2 sons in college ************ ) Thanks I'm sure some of you don't think its worth it to do this but I like the car and plan on keeping it.

I just did this swap on my 70 last weekend. Got it from Summit Racing. Had to look online as they didn't have it advertised in their catalog. Took me about 2 1/2 hrs. from start to finish. It says in the instructions that you have to drill the steering arm holes (7/16th) to 1/2 in. but mine were already 1/2 in. Im also running 14 in. rally wheels and they recommend 15's but mine seem to have plenty of clearance.
The car had manual drums but the previous owner had put a brake booster on it already.
I believe if you search, they have a kit with the booster and the reservoir also.
I bought a CPP kit from Walt at classic nova for my 68. Very happy with the product and Walts service. Highly recomend!!

The CPP kits come with everthing but brake fluid and a mecahnic to do the isntall. These kits include new proportioning valve, mastercylinder, booster, fire wall seal, booster push rod, hoses, calipers bearingss seals, spindles, etc. You can also add the steering arms if yours are damadged. These are availible on stock or drop spindles. These are the most complete. Nothoing is forgoten, the kit is an exact reproduction of the way GM did it in the 1970's.

Not trying to rain on your parade, Danny,(just adding other options) because I know the CPP kit is very good, but I purchased my kit from SSB (Stainless Steel Brakes) a few years ago, and in my opinion, the kit was complete, with quality parts. At the time (maybe 4-5 years ago) I worked with SSB on a group buy, and 8 or 10 of us here received a nice discount on our respective kits. I think if one makes an educated decision, picking a quality kit by an established company, then it's money well spent. When you need to slow that giddy-uppun Nova down, you want to have peace of mind that you purchased quality parts that'll do the job. Cheap is not always a bargain!

No worries about the rain. You said the 2 most important, things to keep in mind when buying brake parts;
1 “you want to have peace of mind that you purchased quality parts that'll do the job.” I agree brakes are VERY important! Don’t put your life at risk, get safe parts from a reputable company.
2 “Cheap is not always a bargain.” You hit the nail on the head! When you buy from any one ask what else you will need to put it together. The few dollars you save on brand “X” will be lost the first time you have to go to the parts store and buy an adapter fitting, or whatever wasn’t included.

hello heres my advice take it or leave it 6 yrs ago i swapped my 72 front drum with 69 gto spindles and rotors from a friend for 125. had the rotors turned and bought gm oe calipers from napa also new lines and 11in power booster and resivour the booster was around 90 then i scap yarded the proportioning valve with a cross ref auto cant recall type . first napa has quality low cost parts and you can see them and return them easily so not to prolong your install. i have a gm starter oe on my 9.5 comp. 355 that cost me 26.00 6 yrs old . if your not going to drive the car, buy the logos and letters if your going to beat it save the money it all gets dusty and dirty i would worry about the full length lines if anything. i have a comp 274xe w/11in of vacume barely enought to assist but does the job. dont spend the money and lose it on a high duration cam. this might help.
