My brake lines are cracking and getting worse... the original front drum brake lines are 12.5"... I looked at Jeg's for some universals but they only had 12", then 14"; no 12.5" or 13"... my question is would I be okay running the 14"? I only want universal because to my knowledge there is no kit that fits DRUM front brakes...

Greetings,
I'd call Summit and/or Jegs and pick one of the "techs" brains. Stainless braided lines are the smart thing to do...I did them on mine (but I do have disc up front). I would think they would either know the length or if Russell or one of the other manufacturers might have a kit for drum brakes.

the brake cylinder has an inverted seat and not a banjo fitting like a caliper... so instead of getting a banjo hose you'd get a -3an braided hose and get the adapters separate. the hose would already be set up on one end for either a 3/16 line or the 1/4 line (you see which one you need) you'd then need to go to the parts house and have them look up the brake hose (stocker ones) and then look in the numerical list and tell you what the thread size & pitch is of the male threaded portion that goes into the wheel cylinder. you take that info and get the adapters from the same place you get the hoses from...
look in the Link-Library... there's a link for Inline Tube and way down in a separate post to be added is a link for Classic Tube... they both can help.

also the lines are braded steel but there covered with clear teflon, they wipe off easy, no dirt in brades

Most any high pressure hose & fitting place such as American Hose & Fitting etc. can make you some while you wait if there's one in your area. Any decent size city should have a hose & fitting store.

My nearest hydraulic fittings place in PDX said that they won't touch brake lines any more due to liability issues. :( I ended up buying my braided front brake lines from www.RightStuffDetailing.com.

I bought a kit for a 69 Camaro. The fronts were the same and I made the rear fit by using a block that I had. It seemed like the lines made a big differance. I went from drums to disk and rebuilt the front end at the same time.
