I found a set of drop singles for $200 Thats fine for me. Are drop spindles half-*** like using shackles?

no, a drop spindle is a real good way of doing it. 6 of one, half dozen of 'nother i guess on what's the best way ta drop the front.

cut the coil or drop spindles... i'd check on the cost of springs. if the ones you have are old etc, might benefit a new set anywho... so you'd get 2 rocks with one tweety... er, maybe sumpin' like that ;)

i'll let ya get more replies/opinions to take into consideration ;)

good ta hear yer droppin' it... get the *****-end down too ;)

Be Good !!! ;)

Eh, on second thought I might as well cough up for the lowering leafs being as I need new ones anyway. The car has a bad lean to the right , I can only imagine the spring is loosing it's arch...

Check that the dropped spindles will work with your wheels. I helped a co worker put some on and then the wheels rubbed the the tie rods and on full turns the LCA. He took them off and went with dropped springs, which IMO are better than cutting coils. Don't forget to get shorter shocks.

IF you're only looking for 2"...follow the flyers advice and got for a set of springs with about 1.25-1.5 coils cut off.
Despite the mass-hysteria that usually insues when one mentions "Cutting springs" it is actually a great method of lowering your vehicle--withing reason.

If you're only looking for 1-2 inches of change, springs will work just fine. Too far beyond that, however, and you start running into issue with maintaining proper alignment specs.
The great thing about cutting springs is that the spring rate will also increase--so you get a little lower AND a little stiffer in the front end, so handling will improve.

The bad thing about drop spindles on our 3rd gen novas is bump steer....it's already a problem straight from the factory--most spindles just make the problem WORSE.

So like I said...in this case, go for lowering springs or if your current springs are in good shape--just trim them down a bit.
Personally, I'm using MOOG BBC springs on my '72 w/ a sbc...trimmed of course ;) Great stance and improved handling--couldn't ask for anything more!

DO NOT USE HEAT TO LOWER OR CUT THE SPRINGS!

YOU WILL NEED TO GET THE CAR ALIGNED!!!

Can I retain my brand new front shocks?
