I've had ALL solid mounts in my car over 10 years--never had a problem. Some people claim to have broken trans cases because of not having any flexible mounting point, it seems to me it would make it worse if you have movement on one end and not the other.

If anything a rubber trans mount.

But if you put on solid engine and trans and one rubber on engine your asking for trouble.

I run all solid on engine and a Polyurethane trans.

no problems

The standard line for years has been if you run solid motor and trans mounts you are more prone to breaking a trans case. I have never seen it happen or heard of any of my friends having problems.

The reason for one solid and one rubber is a "best of both worlds" type scenario.

The solid mount won't come apart and allow the engine to rock over under heavy throttle (the reason GM started putting cables on engine blocks to keep 'em from torquing over).

The other mount, being rubber, is to help dampen the vibrations you'll feel in the car.

I have all solid body and engine mounts and a rubber transmission mount for 15 years. No problem.

I had a urethane trans mount for about a month, it ripped apart. Energy Suspension told me they had never seen it happen before and sent me a new one--it's in the garage somewhere to be used on a nice stock street car.

The purpose for the cable was a multiple.

The mounts used did not have a built in lock.
And with manual throttle linkage as the engine came up the throttle would go wide open.

Now replacement mounts have built in locks.
And they did away with manual linkage and went to cable.

I just changed mine back to manual throttle linkage..
But I have solid mounts.

One solid and one rubber motor mount is OK, just do not toss a solid trans with that combo!
You will break something, most likely the transmission tail shaft housing or main housing.

I have Energy Suspension at all points and they have been great. The trans mount is a little taller though then stock.

Ok well I got it together and it has all solid mounts in it. The vibrations and resonence I can deal with, as long as Im not gonna beak things I dont care
