I installed the CPP coil-over setup today. Everything went very smooth and everything you need is included and correct!
First you remove the spring covers, shocks, and shock towers.

Then remove the springs. I used a jaw type spring compressor (the blue one)- it barely fits but its the quickest and easiest tool to use in my opinion.

Here is the coil-over assembly minus the new shock towers. CPP offers a single and dual adjustable version- I opted for the single. I am also going to try the prototype springs first, then in a month or so I will try out the production springs (approximately 5% spring rate reduction).

The new springs fit in the spring bucket perfectly

The assembly installs very easily with the spring adjustment at the bottom. Run the adjustment up by hand until the spring is snug to the top.

Installing the shock towers is easy, but you will need a slim 1/2" wrench and it makes life easier if you give it a slight bend.

I am still in the middle of my rack conversion so I have not gotten a chance to drive the car yet. More updates to come later...

I took a test drive today with the new coil-overs (and 1" CPP swaybar). I used the lowest shock setting. The ride is smooth without any noticable harshness. I dove into a corner and the car stayed pretty flat and was very predictable. I wasnt focusing on the coil-overs as much as the rack and pinion, so I will play some more when I get the R&P dialed in.

Looking good NOGO. I'm going to install this kit along with their tubular upper and lower control arm kit (available in black now, been holding out for that). I recall a christmas season sale last year and plan to purchase if the sale returns this year. Anyway I have a couple of questions/comments.
Does anybody have any experience with the QA1 shocks in terms of longevity and rebuildability? How long could someone expect them to last before rebuild under normal steet driven conditions? Can these be rebuilt by the do-it-yourselfer or do they need to be sent to a qualified rebuilder/distributor? Any comments on rebuild cost or good bad experiences might help others with their decision.
Also just wanted to mention that everyone is concerned with backspacing for wheels on the 62-67 front ends (myself included:o). The combination of lowering these cars 1.5" or 2" and running a 17x7" wheels with 4" backspacing causes rubbing issues in alot of cases (tire sizes 205 and 215). This kit might be a great tool to really fine tune suspension height to eliminate any rubbing issues. Not only do you get an adjustable shock but you have a greater height range adjustment. You get multiple drop heights built in, so no need to swap variours drop spindles/springs only to find out to combo isn't quite right.
NOGO - Any new real world results with this kit to report? Myself and probably others would appreciate some full drop full rise comparison photos with underside of fender height measurements at both extremes.
This kits might be the ticket to bringing the 62-67 front ends to the next level!!! Whats next...........

Ive seen a coil over kit for the early mustang´s that used almost the same construktion, BUT there coil did´nt get up in the enginecompartment like this..
They had a disk/plate where the shock tower goes with a bracket for the top of the coil (chok) on the underside of the disk. so there was almost a flat surface from the front of fender to where it dips down for the hood hinges..
Shorter chok travel yes, but a slicker look..

I think that company is out of Maryland. They advertise over on Racingjunk.com

Only if you want to maintain the same amount of wheel travel and have a comfortible ride. Other companies make coil over kits, but they have a very limited wheel travel, and hieght adjustment. When you have a short amount of travel, you must use a stiff spring, and that rides bad IMO.
This kit is a simple bolt in, the others have a lot of cuting, grinding, and drilling.
This kit will allow you to raise the car 1" over stock, or set it on the bump stops, and has the same wheel travel that Cheverolet originaly designed into the Nova.

The purpose of the A shaped thing is to allow the use of a log enough shock. The other kits out use a much shorter upper bracket, and that limits the wheel travel by alot. Before we made our kit, we sold the other kits and the comon complaint was how limited the suspension travel was, how stiff the ride became, and somtimes the car could not be raised to the original ride hieght. Not everyone complained, but enough for us to consider making a kit that would solve these short commings. The upper A shaped bracket is very simple, you could make your own upper bracket if you liked. The Bracket we produce is shorter than the OE brackets, and much stronger.

Danny I Was Wondering If The Upper Contol Arm That Goes With The Subframe Kit Changes The Angle Of The Center Line Of The Front Wheel . I Have The Mini Sub Kit But Not The Upper And Was Thinkig About Adding The Upper If I Go Coilover . My Thought Is To Center The Wheel In The Wheel Well Better And Use The Coil Over Set Up Tto Do Lowering Of Car . I Curruntly Run Stock Spindles With Cpp Brakes And Cut Coil Ideas ?????????? Thanks Mpls66

The CPP tubular upper arm is shorter by 3/16”. This will let you use standard GM alignment shims between the upper shaft and the mount. If you add the shims to one mounting point you can move the wheel forward or backward some. Then you would use the lower arm to adjust the alignment. I do not know if it will move the wheel enough to be centered, but it will help.
