Hey all. I will be coming to the Seattle/Tacoma area this Saturday the 15th. Staying a week. Anything I should see/do while I am there? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

The salmon are in the sound and rivers REALLY THICK right now.
Which means theres some good fishing and some great whale watching...so look into that

Of course there's the space needle/seattle center/EMP (experience music project) which can make for a fun day.

Pike's Place market to see those famous "flying" fish ;)

There's some good elk populations around the Mt. Ranier area...and it's rut time...so there's great opportunities to see some big bulls, and hear PLENTY of bugling.

Ballard Locks is kind of cool if you like boats and water infrastructure.

The last time I went to Seattle with my family we stopped at the locks for a visit and had fun watching the operation.

It's been a while since I've been across the border at the Peace Arch, but I recall needing either a birth certificate or passport...but this was a few years ago.

Try googling and see what you come up with ?????

I'd have a passport handy just in case. Things can really be a PITA, so be prepared ;)

I was in BC recently. No problems getting into Canada or back to the US. I did have my birth certificate but they never asked to see it, just my drivers license.

Well I leave tomorrow am. Back to Florida. I had a good time waaaaaay up and over here. Nice state. I saw the most old cars driving around Tacoma/Seattle than anywhere else I've been too! Pleny of old pick ups, muscle cars, etc. It seemed like they were everywhere. Very cool.

I went hiking on Mt Ranier, made it up to around 7400 feet. Up in the clouds. Great day. Went into Seattle today and saw the Space Needle and Pikes fish market. Next day aired a bunch of fish to myself!!! Good stuff. A buddy took us out on his 65 ft yaht all through Pugent Sound to the Narrows bridge and all around. Very good afternoon and night.

All in all, a very good trip. Now I am just dreading the almost 8 hour air time back to Florida.

Just wanted to let you know that I enjoyed your area/state.

Later,
Scott

Happy to hear it...
but do us all a favor and don't tell any of your friends back home how nice it was.

We don't need anyone else moving up here :D:D:D

All you know is it RAINED every day, and everyone has all jacked up on starbucks and were very rude ;)
