I didn't realize they made two until I bought the wrong ones for my application. I have a set of solids and I bought a set of rubber and then decided to switch to polys. The solids and the rubber are one height and the polys are the other. I am fabbing my mounts right now and I don't know which way I should go??? Any ideas???:confused::confused::confused::c onfused::confused::confused::confused:

Hi burkej62,

73 -79 Novas use the "clamshell" style engine mounts that are totally different from either the short/wide or tall/narrow mounts that were used in earlier years.

Energy Suspension makes polyurethane inserts for the clamshell type mounts used in your car. They're JEGS part number 355-3-1116G (or 355-3-1116R for the red ones).

The clamshell mounts already feature an interlocking design from the factory so they can't separate like the older stock mounts could (and often did). However, when the rubber inserts get bad they can allow the engine to sit lower than normal and move around more than it should.
