BIGJOE 30th-August-2007, 03:17 PM OK this is my first question here, I haven't had any luck searching. Just picked up a 1970 Nova 350 4bbl 4 speed. I can't seem to find a hub anywhere. I have one that fits loose and doesn't hold the bearings tight. Did my usual parts store search with no luck. Where can I get a new front hub??
Thanks.
supernovanator 30th-August-2007, 03:35 PM Basically nowhere... Only used are available. I got lucky and realmccoy had a pair, you might ask around or put a want ad here........;)
............. by the way welcome to the site!!!:D
weft 30th-August-2007, 03:39 PM What year hubs will fit ? I have a set off a 65 dont know if that will help you.
BIGJOE 30th-August-2007, 06:33 PM Does anyone know if the '65's would fit?
I wasn't quite ready for the switch to discs yet.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks guys.
wskaiser 30th-August-2007, 07:03 PM I know you said you tried the usual parts stores but if you did not try NAPA, give them a try. They can usually get stuff no other auto supply stores seem to be able to find.

I tried napa... nothing... the '62-'67 hub would not fit a third gen nova... different design in the whole front suspension I believe-(correct me if I'm wrong)

Well I know the bearings and seals are the same. I have 72 nova rotors on my 64 stock spindles. The thing that might be different is where the hub index's the drum in relation to the backing plate. I would say they might work and I have a pair if needed.

The Big Al 30th-August-2007, 09:28 PM Even back in the 70's the hub was a dealer part.
never available in the aftermarket.
But a lot of replacement drums are 1 piece design with hub.
May want to go look at the drum at the parts store. Pic's on-line could be misleading.
I have a 71 Nova 6 cyc car coming that is trashed. I think it has drum brakes.
So might be lucky.

Mitchc 31st-August-2007, 01:19 PM I have everything that came off my 62 when I put disc on it.. The disc came off a 71 Nova. If you them pay for the shipping and I'll send them to ya.. I'm tired of them taking up space in the garage.. I have spindle, drum, backing plate with like new brake shoes, springs, and cyl..
