I received my DSE mini tubs the other day and today i started taking the car apart .I'm hoping to start cutting the stock tubs out tomorrow. Just wondering if anyone else has installed the DSE tubs and maybe offer up some pointers.Also if anyone is interested i can post pictures of my progress.

Those are way out of my price range! Some strips of 2 1/2" wide sheetmetal worked just fine for me. The DSE stuff is real pretty, but I could buy a lot of horsepower for that kind of money, and I'd rather go fast than look good.

Can you keep the backseat in the car with a mini-tub?

It might take cutting a couple pieces of the wire seat frame and folding over the fabric to fit, depending on how wide the tubs are.

klean63
22nd-July-2007, 09:11 PM
I thought they were more than that;

They are, the entire kit is 1,299.00 plus the fuel tanks range anywhere from 675.00-1,100.00.

The tubs by themselves are 399.00

I have to do some repair around the origional shock mounts on my cars body, but looking at how that is turning out I may go with the mini tub and shock relocation to a point inboard of the frame rails. Got any pictures of how it is fitting up in the rear seat area? :beer:

I just got a set of chrome Rally's from wheel vintiques in 15x10 with 7" backspace for a 67 Camaro convertible I'm mini-tubbing. They fit perfect with a M/T 28x12.5 tire with a little room to spare even. The last Nova I did if I remember was 1/2 less backspacing though. I use a Wheel Rite tool to measure them up and it works great for about $80 bucks if you look around. It's kindof a neat look IMO because you don't at first realize how wide the tire is because the wheels aren't deep dish.

I think there is a half inch difference between the two.I have about a half inch clearance on the inside and outside of each tire so it is a little tight.I'm expecting a little bit of rubbing going around corners hopefully not to bad.Post up some pictures of your car i'd like to it.
