Room for factory hood?

We are close to paint/body, and I need to make a decision on the hood. My engine is not ready yet, so it's not in the car for measurements. I have a standard deck height small block, victor jr. intake, and C&S carb. I do not want to run a cowl hood. My preference is a factory-style fiberglass hood using stock hinges. How much room will I have for a carb spacer?

You should be able to run a 1 inch spacer on your setup if you use a 1 inch drop base air cleaner with a 2 1/2 inch tall air filter. This should leave you around 1/4 - 1/2 inch of clearance between the top of the air cleaner and the bottom of the hood.

Buddy had a v350, victor jr, 650dp, and a 3" drop base air-cleaner on the '69 Nova he bought a few months back...still had about 1/2" of between the stock hood and air cleaner wing nut.
