I have a 72 with an iron block LSX engine in it. Formerly a 427 the BB springs made it sit like a 4x4, SB springs made no difference. Now I got these Eibach 1.5" lowering springs and put those in, I swear it sits no different. Will these things settle a bit? Anyone else use them?
I got them cheap brand new for $20. so i dont care too much, I just want my car to sit normal....AH!

Why don't you just cut them to fit?

Because the actual strength of the spring is really stiff also. I might have to try this with the ones I just took out....cant hurt. I'd like a softer spring up front, it rides like a 3/4 ton truck also.

Take a look at David Pozzi's First Generation Camaro (http://www.pozziracing.com/first_gen_suspension.htm) site, he has a nice section on springs. More specificly he has a table of Moog springs (http://www.pozziracing.com/Media/spring_chart.jpg) that includes heights and spring rates.
There was around 20 different sets of front coil springs used in 3rd gen Nova's. Most or them are fairly simular. A small block 72 Nova would have come with 638 or or 6314's.
A couple of things to remember, what ever you cut off the spring height wise will be multiplied around double at the wheel. Second you don't want to take too much off a spring, especially a soft one as you do not want the suspension to bottom out.
