8.5 10 bolt GOV-LOC

Will these fit a Nova 8.5 10 bolt? I see a lot of them on Ebay taken out of Suburbans and such for relatively cheap as Posi's go. Do they work the same as LSD or Lockers?

Maybe not everyone will agree with me, but I say stay away from those. They are a very weak unit, and the governors self destruct very easily, possibly doing a lot more damage.

Personally, I would not even install one in my own diff if someone gave it to me.

I have several covers from the 8.5 10 bolts with fist size holes in them from those things letting loose. I have a few hanging on the wall at the shop.

Yup, that's what I am talking about!!!!!

Years ago when I was working at the GMC dealership, our shop truck (Jimmy) left a trail of oil onto the lot when I returned from an errand one day. The governor had nicely pierced the cover on the diff................

I wouldnt put "gov-loc" and "nova" in the same sentence unless the words "there's no way in hell" preceed both. They're like a grenade with the pin already pulled :eek:
