I have a heidts front end with coil springs and a tci rear 4 link with sway bar. Thinking about adding the front sway bar. Do you think It will make a big difference? I have 5' rims on the front with radials and most of the time will will have some sort of drag tire on the rear.

I can't see a car with 5" rims (i.e. skinny tires) handling corners well enough that body roll would be an issue...I'd be afraid of rolling the rubber right off the rim in a hard corner.
If it were me, I wouldn't spend any money to buy it if I didn't already have it...but if it's laying around, it might be worth a shot just to say you tried it.

There not that small there bigger and better than the original tires that came from gm. Not to mention my nova came with a factory sway bar.

With your set up I'd bet you'd notice more benefit from a front sway bar than the one on the rear. As far as not having enough front tire to need one I say this, if you can pin the front enough to get the rear loose then a front sway bar will be of use.

My point was that, rather they are wider than stock or not, a 5" wide wheel isn't going to do you much good carving corners. If you're looking for better handling through the twisties, a good tire should be your FIRST upgrade. Without a good tire sticking to the pavement, every other upgrade is useless.
Just making an observation that skinny tires up front and wide tires out back are better put to use on the strip than on through the corners. Rather it's larger than stock or not, a 5" wide wheel is pretty darn narrow.
Does your current setup tend to oversteer, understeer, or is it more neutral? I would guess with big sticky tires out back and skinny ones up front you've got more of a problem with understeer--a larger sway bar will only make that worse...

there is more to a sway bar than driving it to the edge of traction loss. The whole reason I'm asking is the heidt's front end is pretty stable without it And I was wondering if a sway bar makes a big difference in general on a heidt's front end. as far as rubber is concerned I plan on 17 or 18 all the way around for the street. So thats where I can really push it a little.

I somehow missed that part about the front clip:confused: sorry....No I don't have a clip,I only have the cpp lower a arm kit, sway bar,new shocks ,springs and bushings. With the sway bar my car handles completely different:D The offset on my front wheels is 4"...they are tight but they work fine.Nice vette by the way!!bm
