Disc brakes- 11" or 13" rotors for 18" wheels

Looking to do a minitub on my 66 with a 4 link rear. My question is, if I run 18 inch wheels with 285/35 tires, are these too big for 11" drilled/slotted 4 piston Wilwoods? Or do I need the "Wilwood Big Brake" 13" setup?

Would the 11" setup be better suited for a 17 inch wheel? I'm putting 17inch wheels up front on the MII front end and was planning on using the 11" drilled slotted 4 piston WIlwoods up there. Is this OK?

THANKS!!!

Barry

Your rear brakes do much less work than the front brakes, so you don't want larger rotors in the back than the front.

Thanks Mike. So I assume that most (if not all) people running 17s up front just have the 11" rotors?

11" rotors are plenty for the rear.

if you could run 18s all around I'd put 13" ones up front and 11" in the rear.

that would be a badass setup. my .02

I use 13" up front with 17's on my 69 and it fills up the wheels nicely.
