Is there a left and right tower? How are they oriented when installing.

NovatoriusRex 11th-July-2007, 01:04 PM The towers aren't side specific, at least on the 62-67 vintage. According to reports, there is a stamp on one side of each tower that needs to face a specific direction when mounted though. I can't remember which facing direction is correct, but I think I have it wrong on my car with no ill effects. :o 4cruzin 11th-July-2007, 09:04 PM How difficult is it to remove the towers? I have a set of chrome ones for my 67 that I got for Xmas but haven't installed yet. Do you just remove the 2 bolts holding the shock in place on the tower and then the 4 bolts on the fender? Do you just remove the 2 bolts holding the shock in place on the tower and then the 4 bolts on the fender? Yup, that's it. As long as the weight of the car is on the front tires, there should be enough slack in the shock mountes to remove/replace the towers easily. jaynova 12th-July-2007, 09:36 AM Found a small print in the manual that says to put the logo facing out. The only stamp I see is an H inside a hexogon I take it to be the logo. Still looks the same either way. Thanks for the input. My logos are facing in, so that matches with why I think mine are backwards. 64PRONOVA 12th-July-2007, 01:31 PM I had mine backwards too. The logo on mine says "WCP" or something like that in big letters. nova656567 12th-July-2007, 10:58 PM As Rex said, it won't have any effect on your suspesion. | |
