>> Gonna swap brother in law's (dariopr) 72 Nova front drums to single piston disc brake system. Car is going to retain the rear drums, but it'll be a manual brake set up. Anyone with info on which is the best master cylinder, part number, or from what car, for this application? The system will consist of a "Tee" to direct a MC port to the front wheels, and a Wilwood adjustable proportioning valve for the rears, cross drilled rotors, green EBC brake pads, & s/s braided hoses. No factory prop valve will be used. some have recommended certain corvette MC, but no pn whatsoever. Was there a manual brake 3rd gen Nova, with front discs from the factory? If yes, I wonder which is the pn for it.

I did a front disc swap on my 73 and left the manual brakes. Do a search at your local chain (AutoZone, Checker, etc) for: Cardone# 101511.
It's was about $20 and I gave them my old one as the core.

When I did mine, I used a 68 master cylinder. I was told it was the only year that had non power front discs.

I switched my brakes over to all discs. Go to Master Power Brakes web site. They have all kinds of master cylinders for all applications. I also used an adjustable proportioning valve to the front brakes.

Looks like you could use either MC390360M or MC11505M. Give them a call, they are very helpful. Very good service when I dealt with them. I have a disc/disc manual on my car.

use either a 1967 or a 1968 manual disk brake M/C from a Nova. you will need the manual rod. the Corvette M/C is for 4Whl disk, if you want to use it, It comes from the 1968-1970 manual 4whl disk app..
I prefer the 68 up M/C because they have a built in 10psi valve for the rear drums as mandated by D.O.T.

I picked up the '68 m/c this weekend for my disc/drum/manual setup. That thing is huge, it's about twice the size of the '70 manual m/c I'm currently using. Do I have the right unit, or is it possibly the wrong application?
Thanks,

Thanks, that things heavy too. I may just use it as a wheel chock and go aftermarket.
