I'd be interested as well. I'd like to run the tailpipes out to the rear bumper on my 1st gen.

This is on my list as well. I was looking at mine the other day and there is some room on top of the front crossmember but I didn't measure. I wonder if that oval tubing would work in that area or all the way for that matter?

I wanted my exhaust to go right to the rear of the car but TCI's front cross member (CM) makes that near impossible with air ride suspension. I installed the front cross member and got my holes drilled to mount it. Then I removed the CM and cut the center section of 2" x 3" part out. Reinstalled the remaining ends to the car. Got some 1" x 2" rectangle tubing, made a new thinner driveshaft loop and tack the parts to the ends. The 2" side of the tube is now touching the floor pan as well as the driveshaft loop is nearly touching. The raised loop lets me lower the car as much as possible without the driveshaft contacting the loop. I ran another set of tubes 4 3/4" below the top ones and they tie to the ends and driveshaft loop. The upper tubes are bolted to the floor the same as the TCI ends are. I think it's as strong if not stronger then the original one and I now have 4 3/4" clearance for the exhaust to go through and up and over the rear end.

I have a full weld-in 4 link with a narrowed rear using 15x15 rims and could have run 3" exhaust over the axles and out the back if I wanted to. The thing that stopped me were my wheelie bars got in the way. The way the TCI bolt-on 4-link is, I don't see how you can do it at all.

The exhaust in the pics 66novass posted is illegal in a lot of states. It's a safety issue.

Dr. Gas has some cool stuff that would help out.

I was looking at it yesterday and I have almost 3" between the front x member and the floor. The hard part I think is around the rear end but I don't see why it can't be done.

There is a member on here who has done it all the way to the rear of the car. Pics aren't available until the car is unveiled, which is real soon. I was scared of this myself until I talked to him and found out he did it. I will probably have to use the same exhaust guy as he used to make sure its done right.

I'm trying to follow what you did, but I'm getting lost. Do you have any pics of this?

Thanks

First picture is the part I removed after fitting the assembly in. The second shot(it's poor quaility) shows the modified front cross member. I still have to shorten the bolts sticking out on the upper member. The lower member is mounted below where the original TCI member was.
