Coil spring cradle question

I just purchased new coil springs and would like to know about the cradles.
I have one on the upper and lower control arms Where the spring sits. If I line up the bottom the top coil goes by the stop or Hole.Is this ok or should I cut some off the spring so the top and bottom line up.The springs I took off seem to be the stock ones as they line up top and bottom.The springs came from J&W Nova. I called them and they told me to ask a front end shop:confused: I don't want them to move around or make noise.
I think the right way would be to cut a little off but wanted to get some other opinions.I'm dying to get this thing tied up.

How much does it go by the stop. If not buy much i would cut it. Have you measured it along side your old spring? could it be you have the wrong side.

Also remember once you cut it you own it. So make sure they are the rite springs for your car.

I don't think they have different sides.
