Just found this published today bt Transportation Trucking Online.
The last sentence says you guys are going part ethanol in your gasoline by Nov 1st.
Looks like a re-jet for some of you with high performance engines.
Portland Sets Biodiesel Mandate, to Begin July 1

All diesel sold in Portland, Ore., will be required to contain at least 5% biodiesel beginning July 1, the Oregon Trucking Associations said.

OTA said the standard will apply to fuel sold inside Portland for use by on-road vehicles. It does not apply to diesel sold in Portland and subsequently transported outside the city.

In 2010, the biodiesel requirement will increase to 10%, OTA said.

The new standard also requires that all gasoline sold in the city contain at least 10% ethanol by Nov. 1.

I thought that 10% ethanol was already part of the standard "winter fuel" formulation here in Oregon that had to be in the pumps by November.

Are they trying to make the winter mix mandatory all year now?

My understanding of the new regulations are that you as of Nov 1st of this year will have 10% ethenol year round in 100% of your service stations.
Since I am in Canada, you will have to search this out for yourself, but as a member of the North American Trucking Association it was in my daily news today about your gas specifically in Portland City proper bieng mandated to get ethenol.
Canada has been selling ethenol from sea to sea in selected service stations for years. I would guess 20% of our service stations sell ethenol year round, but as high as 15%/85% gas, not 10%/90% ethenol.

In Idaho and eastern Oregon there is a chain of gas stations named Stinker. All of their gas has been 10% ethanol for years. Never have seen an issue with it and the good part is the fuel has a couple of points higher octane rating than any other brand of gas.

Same as in Canada, it does have a higher octane. Unfortunatly, it takes more of it to make the same HP.
Its BTU content is less, so you need more = bigger Jets to make the same power. 10%, by volume the average car will propably never notice the difference in power. But very high performance engines, like a 500HP 383, will notice the difference in power.
Anyone who has run a rear wheel dyno ( car that makes Power), will see the difference in power with ethenol added. Unless you jet up for it, you will make less power.
Keep in mind for the outragious power hungry guys this is an issue. The standard 320HP mild build 350, will probably not noice.
