I have a 84 Camaro with rear disc brakes that is a parts car I just looked things over and it seems they may bolt right up to my 67 nova:D
Anyone ever try this swap?
I am not sure if the caliper brackets are bolted over the axle seals or what but I am going to try and bolt them up tomarrow:cool:

Ok so far its a direct bolt up as long as you dont care about E-brake.
I want an e brake so I am going to think of a way to make it work;)

have you installed the rotors yet ??? if not... before you get everything together you may want to test fit them. if i'm not mistaked the OD of the axle won't fit inside the rotor. the axles will need to be turned down 1/8" (total of 1/4") also, maybe this will help you... the E-Brake cable (stocker) is i think a tad bit too short... take a look in the Web-Link Library under brakes i think and there's a link for "Inline Tube" in their index you'll find custom E-Brake cables....

i have a late model Camaro set up here at the house. i'm not positive of the year but i know the rotors wouldn't fit my stocker '64 axles...

just hopin' ta be of help... Good Luck to you ;)

Rotors fit fine.
the e-brake hardware on the caliper hits the leaf spring. I think I am going to box up the disc parts and fight it another day (year).
I have plenty to do allready :)

AHHHHH... i've seen that too... didn't think it was an issue on your car... take a template of the bolt pattern on the disc plate and ROTATE the holes just slightly to clear the spring plate... that's what it's hitting, right ???

i believe it's just about 1/2" of rotation that's needed (the span of the bolts). remark the holes on the plate and drill the backing plate.... pay attention to the caliper bleeder screw now... by rotating it the bleeder may not be pointing up and bleeding the caliper will possibly have to be done off the rotor with a block between the pads.

just a heads up... i have 2 CPP rear disc set ups here and they encountered the caliper hitting the spring plates too and when they make their brackets they automatically rotate the bolt pattern to clear and the bleeding process is tha same on their kits and i'm describing for you to do on yours.

i hope my description is clear for ya... typing's a pain sometimes ;)

i wish ya the best :D

in '84 i had a 55 chevy that i used T/A discs on the rear... they stagger the calipers. left side forward, rightside rearward i believe it is... anyways i had the same problem you're referring. if ya remove the spring/shock plate and jack up differential to clear the spring... will that help ya ??? i dunno if it's the diff/leaf bracket that's in your way or not. i know on my '55 i had ta do that to get the lower caliper bolt out to change pads. but once installed bleeding etc was no problem. but i had stocker style perches on the differential... actually they were Moroso's but were the same style.

possibly unbolt caliper plate (rotate), install rotor, caliper etc THEN bolt bracket to differential ;)

anyways, i hope some/any of this helped ya.

be Good !!! :D
