I need help installing my front sway bar. Any help is appreciated. I'd love it if anyone has a link to a install, but even if someone took some good pictures that would help too. Also any tips on installing it are needed too. I have tried before to put it on but I'm guessing you have to drop a a-arm to allow enough room. I dont know if I should but I might try and install it before tommorows autox. Thanks guys.

What year is your Nova? I just removed mine completely to install poly bushings on my 67. Reinstalled it without touching anything on the suspension, just removed front wheel on one side. I'll take pics and post later today.

It's a 69. Pictures would be killer.

On my 69 I just took the wheels off and finagled it in through the springs. I believe I took the shocks out, too, to make it easier. It's still a pain in the ***, but it's better than dropping the control arms.

How close was it to not fitting. Cause I have the hotchkis swaybar. Maby its just a tad to big to finagle through?

I put an oversized bar in my 72 as part of the front end rebuild. I had everything put together when I tried to install it. I pryed, hammered, twisted, kicked, wiggled, cussed, finagled and finally got it in. Then..... I looked at the connection and....... the #!@$%&* thing was in upside down. :D I had started the wrong end in first. :o I didn't want to do all that over again, so I just dropped one of the springs and it went in very nicely. It's a pain dropping a spring just for that, but it makes it a lot easier. :D (If you have stock springs, they may not be wound as tightly as mine and it may be easier. )

Dan (instructions? what instructions?):p

I've been scratch my head here trying to figure out what the big deal is.I put mine in my 69 with only taking the front wheels off and redid it cause it was upside down the first time.Well I just went out to see what the big deal was and I remembered the engine was out when I did mine and the front was jacked way up!

With stock springs, it may be easier to work the ends through. My new springs were more tightly wound and left little room to work through.

I'm using the Hotchkis 1 1/8" bar and it was pretty tough. It came with instructions (basically said which side to start first and what to remove). I don't have them anymore, though they might be on Hotchkis' site. It was frustrating mostly, but not really too difficult. I'd say try to do it without removing too much. Most it will cost you is an extra hour or so. ;)

Thanks guys. It looks like I'll drop a spring and slide it through that way. After installing a new steering box and having a agressive alignment does my car needs the bar. Bad.

Sounds like the install on a 69 is completely different than a 67. Makes sense since the suspension is completely different  . I haven't taken the pics yet, but doesn't look like they would help you anyway since my bar doesn't get anywhere close to the springs.
