A buddy took me to a car he knew about that has been sitting in the same spot for at least 15 years. No one was home so I didn't open the hood (you just don't do that kind of thing around here). 396 emblems, 4 speed, bucket seats. I'll try to catch someone at home over the weekend but I'm sure its, "Not for sale. I'm going to fix it up someday". If it does have the original 396, what do you think it's worth?

I quickly read this and was Like "WHAT??" LOL Then I got to the end. :D
AS in for price, Well if its a real 396 car and has the numbers matching engine and papers to go with it. Well then my friend I would say at least 12 to 15k but I am judging off of a pic. I could be off though so dont quote me. :D

If you can buy it for $15,000. You can not get hurt. The SS wheel caps are the deep original style. Is it a 4 spd? Earl

How did the underside look?. I notice that it's under cover but that ground underneath holds moisture and it can really eat things up after a while. BUT man what a find.!!!!!!!!

I bet you will get " Im gonna fixer up, not for sale" treatment. There was a guy that lived not to far from me that had a 69 camaro rs/ss, it rotted into the ground, he would not sell it.

I went back over the weekend and talked to the brother of the owner. The pictures make it look better than it really is. According to the brother, the car was pruchased from the original owner in the early 70's. He claims it was the 375 horse 396. It now has a 402 from an Impala and the rear end was changed from a 411 to a ? It supposedly runs and was last licensed in 96. Of course, it is not for sale. But it would make a great project. I'll wait a little while and see if I can catch the owner in a good mood.

Just curious, I thought all the bench seat BB cars had a tach on the dash ???
Don't worry I'm sure he'll fix it up ONE DAY!

The in dash tach was part of the console gauge package which only came with bucket seats.....from the photos it looks like this is a bucket seat car...minus console. Under the hood it still appears to have the correct rad, rad cover, dipstick, deep groove alt. pulley, fuel line in the right place, BB heater core, etc...rough around the edges, but I've seen worse. Good luck...
