Hey, well I did what most people have done, but I did it a bit worse lol.

Locked the ONLY trunk key I have for my car in well you guessed it...THE TRUNK  :D

Don't really wanna lay out a ton of cash to get a pro locksmith to unlock it.

Whats involved in removeing the seat so I have access to the trunk threw the 2 triangular holes behind it?

Any special tricks? Any advice on removal of the rear seat itself?

Thanks :(

There are hooks in the floor towards the side of the bottom half of the seat. You have to push the seat bottom backwards and lift up. It should pop up one side at a time. The upper half should have bolts holding it against the rear firewall. I have never taken the rear seat out of a nova but that's the way my Camaro worked.

Yep, pretty much the same way...

I think the glove box lock uses the same key. If you pull the glove box lock. It will have a key code on the side. Take it to your local Chevy dealer. The parts department can look up the code. Then cut you a new key. Earl

Removing the seat? Why didn't I think of that?

I did the same thing last summer and I drilled my lock out and put a new one in.

DOH!

after you remove the seat you cant crawl into the trunk.
what I did was get all my 3/8 extensions put them together with a 3/8 socket on the end. reached it through the access holes behind the seat and removed the bolts holding the latch plate on the decklid, just have someone holding the decklid down so it dont fly up after you remove the last bolt.
very easy, you will need to readjust the latch when you put it back on
