Can anyone tell me if MT 26x10 sportsman s/r tires will fit in the rear of a stock 72. Im more familiar with BFG's dimensions but I am real interested in the flame tread pattern of the s/r's. There is alot of info on this site on MT drag tires but not so much on radials. Any info would help. Thanks.

I have 255x60's ET street radials on mine, but my lips are rolled. Looks like they would still clear though without the rolled lips on a 15x8 draglite with 4.5" backspacing

Are the 26x10.5's without any mods? Also what size rim are you running with it. 8"??? Part of my confusion is I have always ran BFG's on all of my cars and in MT'S specs they use sidewall width were as BFG uses section width. For example 245/60/15 BFG's have a section width of 9.8" and from what I have heard they barely fit in a stock application. 26x10 MT Sportsmans have a sidewall width of 10.3". Does this mean they are wider than the 245/60 BFG's and won't fit under my car? Thanks guys maybe we can get some more replies on this.

I run a 26 10.50 15 on a 8.5" convo pro with a 5" backspace. I could have ran a little bigger but I couldn't find a 9" convo pro with a 5.5" backspace. Thes tires have a 8.3" tread on an 8.5" wheel.

Anyway here are a few pics. Keep in mind these are ET Street bias ply's but you should be able to run a 275/60 15 without much problem.

BTW - My fender lip has been cut out as you will notice in the pics.

Innner pic. Kind of deceiving but there is plenty of room between the shock and the fenderwell.

Thanks for the info guys. I'll have to take some measurments after I get it out of storage but right now I am leaning torward the 26X10 sportsman s/r's. I will post some pictures after I get them. Hopefully they will fit. In the meantime if anybody has sportsman s/r's I would love to see pictures of them. Thanks again.

I'm running a 28x11.50x15 MT ET Street in my 71. Everything is stock and original in terms of suspension and wheelwells. The original monoleafs are shot and the car has dropped some. If I can get it back up about 1" it will eliminate the light rub I get if I twist the suspension over bumps etc.
