What's the maximum tire height and width on a 4-link rear suspension? Got a '66 hardtop. I dont want to mess with mini tubs and I want to keep everything original . But I hope I can fit a 17 height and 9.5 width tire/rim. I did search but nothing in my scenario. Thanks!

You can't get a 9.5" rim under there without doing a mini tub. A 8" rim will fit with about a 265 tire. If you mini tub you can get up to a 10" rim with a 305 tire under it.

Tim is right. The 4-link doesn't compensate for the size of the wheel tub in the early Novas.

Rudester,
I have a 66 SS with stock rear end and leaf springs. I have Torque Thrust II 15"x8" with 41/2" backspacing and the tires are 235 60R 15. That's the biggest tire I could fit. Might have been able to get 245's if I had a little more backspacing. Not sure.

I think a 265 tire without a minitub might be pushing it. With a minitub a 275 is possible if you don't cut into the frame rails. If you do cut the rails, then 305 would fit. Either way, as posted earlier, the tire size limiter is the inner tub/frame rail, not the 4-link bars
