Flaming River Column?

Has anyone installed a flaming river steering column in a 67? If so, how did you attach it to the stock mounting plate under the dash? Any ideas?,

How about you weld some tapped lengths of 1/4" flat plate to the column tube to match up with the mount?

That's what Ididit did with the 67 replacement column I bought.

I was hopeing someone had another way. I will probley use the mount off the orignal column and weld it on.

One of these days I'd like to get my car down to Woodburn for a few runs. Maybe this summer. :)
