I want to start a post for BB cars to know what is specific to BB cars,as well as be able to exchange info for BB cars.
If you see this ? I'm trying to get answers on what is and isn't correct.
Please add to this;
Heater core and heater box assembly
Rad support & rad
Transmission Cross member
Engine mounts
Gas tank sending unit.
12 bolt rear
disc brakes 69 up,optional 68?
even just posting you have a BB car may help for who we can ask about BB specific items.
Thanks Paul

Here is a shot of the correct BB clutch return spring...bracket goes on the exhaust manifold...for those of you running headers.....just weld a small loop on the tube and hook it up...hope this helps.

Now that your talking about clutch stuff, I believe the clutch adjustment rod is big block specific also.
Good point.
It's a catch 22.The 6 cyl & BB use the same rod.The SB use the different rod.

Here's a pic of the duct work for a console car,it is the same for SB as well.An original BB Heater core will not fit correctly in a SB heater box they(BB) are a 1/4" larger, but the after market ones are the all the same size.

Just wanted to say that I am a new member and appreciate all the great info. So, I am currently working on my 69 L78 and I had a few questions.
I wanted to know if anyone knows what the part number on the BB fan blade is. I found on in the GM box (unused) up in my barn the other day. It looks identical to the one in the pictures. However, the only difference is that instead of 4 bolt holes for the water pump it has 8. But I put it on the BB water pump and fits perfect. Could it be GM replacement? The fan blade has been up there for 25+ years. I don't even know how I got it! I often wonder what else is up in my barn??
One other question. Is the fan blade held on the water pump with studs with washers and nuts or with bolts into the water pump?
Thanks for the info.

That is nova gold!!!! What you have is a gm service replacement fan for a short or long waterpump and it would be held on with bolts. I would look for more in the barn, they could bring 600-1000 dollars on e-bay!

That's what I initially thought. Well since I am restoring a 1969 Nova 396/375 I will be able to use it for myself. Thanks
I am sure as I get into the resto of my car I will have many other questions.
Again thanks for the info.

Here are pics of a BB rad from the side that bolts to the rad support and a pic of one brace. This is not an original dated rad,it's a replacement from back in the day.

Small block tachs are 5,000 red line. 350 HP big blocks are 5,500 red line. 375 HP big blocks are 6,000 red line.

So the version posted has a 5500 redline and must be a 396/350hp tach?

You have to look real close to tell it's a 6000 redline when you see it beside a 5500 redline it's more obvious. The yellow starts at about 5500.If I get a chance I'll post a 5500 one.

WILL A BIG BLOCK 4 CORE RADIATOR OUT OF A 69 CAMARO FIT INTO A 69 BIG BLOCK NOVA ?? IF SO ARE THERE ANY MODAFACTIONS NEEDED ?

That's what I'm using in my 69 Nova a 4 core Camaro, the battery tray needed tweaking and I had to cut a small piece to clear an indent on the rad support. It was fairly straight forward though. Here's a pic of it on the support out of the car.

Just wondering what the difference in the crossmember for a big block is. It looks very similar to mine.

The mounting holes are about 1" off center to the passenger side. The whole driveline is about 1" off center to clear the power steering box and brake booster.
