ryan63 13th-February-2007, 08:10 PM I'm putting a heidts clip on and I need a new master cylinder. I need a manual disc/drum and I was curious what ones out there work with little to no modification to the pedal and push rod. I'd like to run a wilwood or something but if it means a bunch of extra work to get one of their universal ones to work than I'd rather just run a stock type one. Thanks.
nova66mussl 13th-February-2007, 09:03 PM I used the new CCP billet unit that has the porportioning valve built in. Looks great without all that extra plumbing. I think I paid about 200 bucks for it.
nova66mussl 13th-February-2007, 09:06 PM sorry, that is made by CPP, Classic Performance Products. www.classicperform.com
1Bad'66 13th-February-2007, 09:20 PM I went with a stock 67 Nova master. I am running 4 wheel discs and it works great!
ryan63 14th-February-2007, 01:58 PM Thanks for the info guys.

I have that one also .Pretty nice unit!
Greg_R_63 15th-February-2007, 03:36 PM Before I took my car apart, I was using a dual master cylinder from NAPA for a 70 Corvette, front disc, rear drum. Worked great.
64PRONOVA 15th-February-2007, 04:45 PM As 1Bad'66 mentioned, the stock '67 master cylinder is a direct bolt-on with no modifications needed. Good choice for a disc/drum set-up.

i checked on the link you posted for the billet unit with porpertioning for my 62 and could not find it. Do they still offer it?
Cdn67 15th-February-2007, 05:48 PM I ran a booster/master from Master power brakes. good system, but make sure if you go this route to order a master with a dual bale as the single bale one leaked from the top.

nova66mussl 15th-February-2007, 06:35 PM click on the link, then go to the left column & click master clys. top area under the yellow band. Award Winning product. I have the CP31500-P, disc, drum combo. I called them & this is the one they reccommended. Cheaper than I thought too !
lz07rp 15th-February-2007, 09:25 PM You might want to try Pirate jack. They have a good selection of brake parts. There web site has good tips on brake tech also.
Smittys62 15th-February-2007, 10:05 PM thx Nova66, there are no pics. do you have any of yours? I have disk up front and drums in the back. is this the one for me? thx again Smitty
nova66mussl 15th-February-2007, 11:56 PM yeah Smitty, that 31500 should be the one you want. I'll see if I can get a pic & send it. They are pretty sweet.
67deuce 17th-February-2007, 09:40 PM If you can use the stock master cylinder on a 4 disc setup do you still use the stock prop valve?
Thanks Guys, Deuce

I'm not using a prop valve. It works fine. Brakes are great. I have 4 wheel Wilwoods.
64PRONOVA 17th-February-2007, 10:24 PM I have Wilwood discs on all four corners of my '64 and I use a proportioning valve as well as a residual valve with a GM master cylinder.

When I was setting mine up, I spoke with Chassisworks as well as Wilwood. Both said that you could go either route--valve or no valve. Since I had no valve, that's the way I went! Works great..so that's all I'm concerned with--I have go power and whoa power:D
nova66mussl 18th-February-2007, 10:44 AM I believe the proportioning valve is only used when you mix drum & disc because of the different pressures required for each.
67deuce 19th-February-2007, 07:52 PM Good news. Thanks for the input on the master cylinder. I'll be using 4 wheel GM discs so I'll just use a new chevy ii m/c. Thanks,1bad'66
